FAQS

No, you do not need a referral for physiotherapy if claiming personally or with your private health cover.ᅠIf you are claiming via Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), Work Cover or have an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, you are required to bring in your Doctor’s Referral at the time of initial consultation. We believe in excellent communication between the treating physiotherapist and doctor.

Yes. We operate on an appointment only basis. It is our policy to ensure appointments to all who seek them are as close to their first contact as possible. If there are no times available, a waiting list is kept until such time as everyone has an appointment.

Please contact our friendly reception staff and they will organise an appointment for you and answer any questions you may have regarding treatment.

To provide optimum care, our standard appointments are scheduled for a minimum of 30 minutes. However, please allow up to an hour for your initial consultation. Longer times can be arranged for more complex conditions or multiple injuries.

In order to enjoy your full treatment time, please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your initial appointment time to complete a personal details form. Our Physiotherapists always aim to run on time for all of their appointments.

Kindly bring your Doctor’s referral (should you have one) and any X-rays or scans pertaining to your condition.

During the first appointment clients will be asked a number of questions including how their problem began, the nature of their symptoms, their general well-being, previous injuries and medical conditions. This information will help the physiotherapist determine if there are physical conditions that would prohibit or limit a treatment as well as draw up a treatment plan.

Try to wear appropriate clothing to move freely, allow visual inspection and easy “hands on” access to the body part to be treated. We will provide a clean hospital gown for each patient for modesty when required.

All services provided at Macarthur Physiotherapy are covered under private health insurance. A gap fee will apply depending on your health insurance company and your level of cover. Please contact them directly to enquire about your physiotherapy rebate.

We have direct processing for must funds through IBA Health facility where we are able to swipe your card on the day of treatment, your health fund will pay the physiotherapy rebate to us directly. Please bring your Health Insurance Card with you to use this facility.

We accept Cash, EFTPOS, Visa and Mastercard as forms of payment.

Medicare will refund $52.95 for up to 5 sessions per calendar year under the Enhanced Primary Care initiative (EPC). This is available to people with complex and long-standing health conditions and MUST be referred by your GP under and Enhanced Primary Care Plan. Not everyone can qualify for such a plan.

Late arrival for an appointment will unfortunately shorten your treatment time as we strive to keep time for all booked appointments.
