Sports injuries & physiotherapy
At Macarthur Physiotherapy Ingleburn, our Physiotherapists implement rehabilitation based on the best available evidence in Sports Physiotherapy. Our sports performance facility allows us to further progress sports specific rehabilitation and facilitate not only a pain free return to play, but a return to performance or better.

Athletic performance and Injury reduction programs
Macarthur Physiotherapy Ingleburn is conveniently located inside the CrossFit 565 multi-purpose gym facility at Ingleburn. Luke Gomez utilises this clinic for end stage sports injury rehabilitation and athletic performance programs, and to develop strength and conditioning programs to improve the athletic competencies of strength, power, speed and agility.
Guided strength and conditioning in this setting is paramount to developing robust athletes, optimising performance and minimising injury risk.
Pre-screening assessment
Pre-screening assessment involves performing specific screening tests to establish an individual’s athletic profile and identify particular areas of weakness and injury risk.
For example, eccentric hamstring muscle weakness is thought to be related to an increased risk of hamstring muscle injury. Pre-screening assessment allows us to identify hamstring weakness, tailor an exercise program to specifically improve eccentric hamstring strength and reduce the risk of hamstring injury.
Additionally pre-screening assessments give our Physiotherapist a useful baseline score to quantify the effectiveness of performance programs and determine when an athlete is ready to return to play after injury.
ACL rehabilitation
We use HUDL technique video analysis for landing, cutting and change of direction technique during anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rehabilitation. HUDL technique is used to analyse technique and movement through slow motion video analysis.
Given that 70% of ACL injuries are non-contact injuries, it is important to train good landing and change of direction mechanics during injury prevention and ACL rehabilitation programs. Using HUDL technique we can assess joint angles, perform slow motion video analysis and give visual feedback to patients, allowing us to retrain optimal change of direction mechanics.
Our Ingleburn clinic is our end stage ACL rehabilitation center. The current best available evidence regarding ACL post surgical rehabilitation recommends reaching specific strength, agility and neuromuscular milestones to minimise the risk of re-injury when returning to sport. Our specialist Sports Physiotherapist uses the large gym facility to guide end stage ACL rehabilitation programs and safely return you to your chosen sport.
