Our Services

Get moving, get back to work, get into sports, feel great again. Prevention is always better than cure. However if you are injured or recuperating we understand the importance of getting you back on your feet and into activities as soon as possible.

At Macarthur Physiotherapy we have a wide variety of services that we develop into a tailored care plan that is just right for you.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy applies ‘hands-on’ treatment techniques to improve joint mobility and the soft tissue health. The common techniques used by physiotherapist include – passive joint mobilisation, spinal manipulation, soft tissue mobilisation/massage, neural tissue mobilisation and muscle energy techniques.

Post Operative Care

Our physiotherapists provide rehabilitation services for individuals who have had orthopaedic or spinal surgeries. From the acute care immediately after the surgery through to the end stage of your rehabilitation, we work with the surgeon’s post-operative rehabilitation protocol and your physical condition and needs to develop a suitable rehabilitation program. The ultimate goal is to restore your functional capacity and improve your quality of life.

Shockwave Therapy

This therapy is a non invasive treatment solution for long term soft tissue pathologies. Shockwave Therapy will enhance and reset the healing pattern while reducing pain and improving function. Physical effects of shock waves include – pain reduction, increased metabolism, promotes tissue healing and regeneration, and muscle tone recovery. With very few negative side effects, Shockwave Therapy is indicated for conditions that are normally very difficult to treat, and is now widely used for many therapeutic and wellness applications.

Women’s Health Physiotherapy

Our Women’s Health physiotherapist treats women through pregnancy and pregnancy related conditions such as pelvic girdle pain, lower back pain, rib-cage pain, abdominal muscle separation and perform both pre-natal risk and post-natal return to sport assessments. In the case of Pelvic Organ Prolapse, we can fit and manage Pessaries, and treat individuals for other bladder and bowel related conditions such as urinary or faecal incontinence, urgency and pelvic floor dysfunction.

We use manometry and EMG biofeedback. Our Women’s Health physiotherapist will spend an hour at the initial consultation and work with you for comprehensive assessment and treatment.

Paediatric Physiotherapy

Our Paediatric physiotherapist treats children and young adults from 0 to 18. Newborns and toddlers may be referred for their positional talipes, plagiocephaly, torticollis or developmental delay. Children may be assessed and treated for growth related conditions such as Sever’s, Osgood Schlatters, growing pains, hypermobility or other sports related conditions. Our Paediatric physiotherapist has experience in treating a number of neuromuscular conditions, respiratory related conditions such as cystic fibrosis and will be able to assess and treat your child through childhood and liaise with the appropriate multidisciplinary team.

Real Time Ultrasound

This modern technique is widely used to assess the core muscle function. Using a diagnostic ultrasound, your therapist can see your different layers of muscles contract and relax, giving a clear visual of how these muscles are working. Ultrasound physiotherapy can be used for any muscle retraining by accurately displaying the muscle functions and whether you are using the ‘right’ muscle’ and doing the ‘correct’ exercises.

Occupational Health Services

Macarthur Physiotherapy provides quality and effective management and treatments for work related injuries. In addition to good standard musculoskeletal physiotherapy services, we regularly communicate with the insurer, medical practitioner and other stakeholders to facilitate return to work.

Casting Applications & Sports Strapping

Macarthur Physiotherapy provides arm or leg fracture casting services in both Lindesay Street and Park Central clinics. We use fiberglass and waterproof liner casts, Thermoplastic splinting and EXOS Casts and Braces.

Pilates Plus

Pilates and exercise is widely used hand in hand with physiotherapy in the management and treatment of a variety of conditions. It can be very different from the exercises people do in the gym. Our physiotherapists have comprehensive knowledge in theory and practical skills to prescribe specific and individualised exercises for patients due to our unique understanding of how the body moves.

Dry Needling Plus

Dry Needling Plus (DNP) is an integrated neuro-myofascial needling approach developed by Andrew Hutton, a dry needling expert and sports physiotherapist. DNP ‘utilises traditional Japanese meridian therapy needling techniques within a global musculoskeletal framework’. Wei-Ju has completed both Level 1 and 2 DNP training to provide quality dry needling treatments.
