At MacArthur Physiotherapy, we love sports! Unfortunately, we treat lots of people who are dealing with sports related injuries, and it doesn’t matter whether you are an elite athlete or a weekend warrior, sports injuries can come out of the blue and strike hard. It’s no fun dealing with an injury, but when it lays you up and prevents you from participating in your favourite sports, it’s an even bigger problem in your life.

Our therapists have experience working for professional and semi-professional sports teams and are experienced in diagnosing and treating sports injuries with an aim to have you back on the field/pitch/court or chosen arena as soon as possible.

At Macarthur physiotherapy, we understand that stopping your sport or chosen physical activity is frustrating and through activity modification or load management we will endeavour to keep you active whilst treating your injury.  Additionally, we wont just treat your injury; we also focus on injury prevention and a return to optimal performance.  We achieve this through guided strength and conditioning programs which are provided at our Ingleburn performance facility.

When you start to feel pain or your movements are restricted during exercise, it’s time to seek help from a professional and experienced physiotherapist. We understand the way your body works and we know how to help you recover completely from an acute injury or manage a chronic injury over the long term.

Your recovery plan may include exercises, massage, joint mobilisation, dry needling and other non-invasive techniques, but will also include education to prevent the injury recurring. Our initial treatment will focus on reducing pain and swelling, and as you recover, will move on to include strengthening and endurance techniques, specifically related to your chosen sport.
